Barbizon University Tuition Scholarship The CBC offers the Heineken USA Scholarship. At East Tennessee State University, the Theater and Dance Division awards the Diversity in Acting scholarship to first-year students and continuing college students who specialize in active theater. Interested actors must obtain a minimum GPA of 3.0, audition for a lead role in teacher-directed productions, dedicate more than 10 hours a week to stage work, and complete a theater course every semester. The request involves performing two contrasting monologues on video.
Created by Motown alumnus Janie Bradford, the Heroes and Legends (HAL) scholarship helps at-risk minority youth who demonstrate extraordinary talent and a desire to pursue careers in the performing arts, including acting. Citizens between the ages of 17 and 26, reside or study in Southern California, attend accredited universities or community training centers, consistently earn a minimum GPA of 2.0 and serve as positive role models. The Kevin Corrigan scholarship for young actors, named after the Bronx native with more than 149 acting credits such as Goodfellas and The Departed, is awarded every year by the Lee Strasberg Theatre Film Institute %26.It is open to unenrolled teen actors between the ages of 12 and 17 who are from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Funding helps the talented next generation to fund any other acting studio, including university degrees.
In 1969, Lee and Anna Strasberg founded The Lee Strasberg Theatre %26 Film Institute to train and encourage present and future generations of aspiring actors. Today, our scholarship program serves to honor this vision and support students with great passion and potential for a career in the performing arts. The Creative Center also conserves and maintains Lee Strasberg's archives, which include videos of his classes and performance lectures.
